Is the Underground Hospital wheelchair accessible?

Yes, it is level throughout, with a few small ramps. We also have wheelchairs on site that can be used. There’s a drop-off point close to our front door if required. More detailed information here – German Military Underground Hospital and Ammunition Store | AccessAble

Can I buy tickets in advance?

There is no need to buy tickets in advance as we always have availability.

Are you open on May 9th – Liberation Day?

No.

Is there parking available?

Yes, we have a large car park opposite our main entrance.

I’m visiting on a cruise ship. How can I reach you?

The No.71 bus leaves the town terminus right where you disembark, and brings you to the end of our road, it’s then a few minutes walk to our front door.

Are dogs allowed in the hospital?

Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome. We just ask that they’re kept on a lead.

Do you have toilets?

Yes, we have a portaloo on site.

What are your opening times?

We open from 10.00am – 4.00pm, with last admissions at 3.00pm.

Are you open all year round?

No, we’re open Friday-Monday in April & October, and daily from May-September.

We may be able to offer visits for groups of 10 + by appointment outside our normal open hours.

How much does it cost?

Adults – £5.00 and children under 15 – £2.50

Do you offer group discounts?

Yes, groups of 10 + will qualify. Adults – £4.00 and childen £1.50

How long does it take?

Generally somewhere between 30 minutes and 1 hour.

Is it cold/wet?

The tunnel temperature is a constant 12 deg C throughout the year, so warm clothes are advisable, as is good footwear as it is generally wet under foot.

Can you provide a guided tour?

We can’t offer individual tours. The normal visit is self-guided with the aid of a map and information sheet. “Tours of Guernsey” do offer guided tours of the Hospital, and can be contacted here.  www.toursofguernsey.com
